HOUSTON - The Stephen F. Austin men\'s and women\'s track and field teams kicked off the 2006 indoor season Friday at the Leonard Hilton Memorial. The Ladyjacks, led by a strong showing in the vertical jumps, scored 32 points to finish in fifth place. The Lumberjacks performed well in the sprints and finished in 7th place with 39 points.
LUBBOCK - Texas State sophomore RaShandra Harris won the 200 meter dash and placed second in the finals of the 55 meters as the Bobcats opened the indoor season with a commanding performance at the Wes Kittley Invitational Friday.
HOUSTON -- Making their respective collegiate track debuts, University of Texas freshmen Jamaal Charles (Port Arthur, Texas) and Raymond Harris (Nacogdoches, Texas) collected NCAA provisional-qualifying marks to highlight the fourth-ranked Longhorns\' easy victory at the 12-team Leonard Hilton Memorial Meet Friday evening at the University of Houston\'s Yeoman Field House.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Sophomore Lauren Hagans (Little Rock, Ark.) broke her own school record in the 1,000 meters to win the event with a time of 2:48.19, just ahead of freshman Erin Bedell (Plano, Texas) in second at 2:48.72 in the first day of action Friday at the Razorback Invitational at Randal Tyson Track Center.
Lubbock, Texas - Qualifying efforts continued today in Lubbock as Bobby Most produced an NCAA provisionally qualifying mark in the pole vault. Junior Shawon Harris also reset his school record in the 55M hurdles, his second record-setting time in as many days.

A new era in Baylor track and field begins in 2006 with Todd Harbour taking the reigns of the program from new director of track and field Clyde Hart, who retired as head coach this past summer after 42 seasons at the helm of the program.
Houston, Texas- - The three high school signees include Quin\'Shundolyn McPherson of Alief Taylor High School, Brandon Hubbard of Texas A&M Consolidated High School and Wesley Bray of Cy Fair High School. The junior college transfers are sprinters Willie Hordge and Ivory Williams of Butler Community College.
UTPA head men\'s and women\'s track and field and cross country coach Ricky Vaughn announced on Wednesday (Dec. 21) that former UTPA All-American Isaac Ybarra has been named Assistant Track and Field Coach.
