Connecticut Boys XC Class LL - L - MM Previews

Class L's Top Runners

The guy rated #1 in the nation appears at the top of the list here, and that is a very good start to a great group of runners.

Gavin Sherry (Conard). He had the fastest 1600m time in the nation last year in spring track, and though a lot of attention will be focused around that sub 4:00 question when T&F resumes, there are also some huge performances looming for the guy who won the Open as a sophomore in 2019 and then won the New England championship before placing 14th out in San Diego at Foot Locker Nationals. Last year XC he won the Northeast championship and had a tremendous battle to the line with Nick Bendtsen in the East Coast a week later.

Callum Sherry (Conard). Sherry highlighted another strong XC season with a 3rd at the East Coast XC championship behind only Nick Bendtsen and his brother Gavin Sherry. He is also the second fastest returner from the 2019 Open, where he finished 9th as a sophomore.

Eamon Burke (Xavier). The Falcon senior was the top guy in the SCC championships last fall and was 4th at the Outdoor Nationals in June out in Eugene, OR.

Brody Santagata (Xavier). The Falcon senior was 29th in the 2019 L championship and 2nd overall in the SCC last year, so he will be part of a big top duo for the X-men this year.

Luke Davis (Simsbury). The Trojan junior was 4th in the very tough CCC - A race last year and will lead a team that is in rebuilding mode.

Michael Bohlke (Newington). The Indians' senior was 3rd in the 2019 L race and is the only returning guy from the top 12 of that meet. He had a strong 16th place finish in last fall's Northeast XC championship and a solid track season though Newington's 2020 XC season was limited.
