Class L's Top Teams
Xavier won the 2019 LL title comfortably and has a top four of Eamon Burke, Brody Santagata, Noah San Vicente, and Nick Cassarino back from that team. The Falcons also have everybody back from last year's team that dominated the SCC championship, so they look set to fly very high this year with a senior-heavy squad. Another team from the SCC that will be looking to move up this year is Shelton, which finished 5th in the league meet last year but has all but runner back from last year's varsity eight.
Conard has the top duo in the state on the lead with Gavin and Callum Sherry and have five of the varsity seven back that took 2nd to Hall in the CCC - A championship last year and which also will be heavily senior dependent. Simsbury is another team from last year's CCC - A and led by sophomore Luke Davis and the Trojans have potential to do well if they can replace last year's fairly heavy losses.
Darien won the FCIAC - West championship by 1 point last year and has six of the varsity eight back for a promising 2021 season, while the 2nd place team from the meet New Canaan lost its top four and will have rebuilding work to do. Wilton finished 3rd in the FCIAC - Central race and has all of its top seven back except for its 2020 frontrunner Davis Cote.
New Milford won big in the SWC but lost four of it varsity seven, so rebuilding this season behind junior Andrew Taborsak for a potentially very good 2022 campaign will be in the works.
