300m

If the race goes to form, Alanna Smith will be well out in front but there will be a spirited battle for 2nd between seven runners who have gone under 42.10, and Mariella Schweitzer ran a 40.32, though on the faster Armory track. The second section that will likely have 7th-8th-9th seeds Avery Winters, CT #4 Anna-Sasha Jones, and Brittani Westberry could be very dangerous. Hillhouse's Precious Holmes owns the 2012 Open mark at 38.56, and Wilbur Cross's Nyia White was the 2020 champ.

No one will be challenging Precious Holmes' 2012 Open record of 1:31.23, and Simsbury's Elsa Martin was the 2020 winner.

55 Hurdles

CT #1 and 2021 outdoor Open double hurdles champ Mariella Schweitzer has to be considered the favorite here as she did 8.44 here in the SWC League meet. Shani Smith is not far behind though after an outside-lane Class L win, and this is in an event where one uncooperative hurdle can spell the difference. The top ten seeds all come from Classes L-M-S, as LL champ Zoe Spann-McDonald is seeded 11th, though she ran faster at the CCC championship. Fairfield Ludlowe's Tess Stapleton was the 2020 winner with an Open record 8.04, one week after she ran 7.96 in the LL meet, with a followup of 7.88 at New England.
