Fairfield Ludlowe junior Tess Stapleton has earned her first Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year honors from her achievements on the track in the Hurdles and Long Jump.

Those the outdoor season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, Stapleton was the state leader in the 55m Hurdles with her 7.88 from the New England Indoor Championships as well as US#4 and also CT#2, US#6 in the Long Jump with her 19-6.5, also from New Englands.

Stapleton improved her 55mH nearly 2 tenths of a second in 2020 dropping from 8.07 to 7.88. Her Long Jump also improved on her 2019 Indoor mark by 5 inches. Though the season and competition ended early for her junior year you can expect her to build off her great indoor track season in the 2020-2021 campaign.
