Connecticut's Future Stars: April 6-12 Top Performers and Breakthroughs

Connecticut's next wave of talent wasted no time making an impact during the first full week of April competition, as freshmen and sophomores across the state delivered a mix of standout marks and major personal bests.


Sprints

On the boys side, Hanief Jones (Hartford Public) set the tone with an 11.05 victory at the Lady Hawks Invitational, the fastest mark among freshmen. He was closely followed by Kaden Clark (Farmington), who doubled back with a strong 11.20 in the 100m and an event-leading 22.65 in the 200m. Chase Larsen (Darien) and Charles Leonard (Wilbur Cross) also showed consistency across both short sprints, each landing in the top five underclassmen in the 100m and 200m from last week.

Several breakthrough performances added depth to the sprint story. Levi Currie (Wethersfield) dropped nearly six tenths to run 11.64, while freshmen Kyijon Wright (Hillhouse) and Bradley Rivera (Windham Tech) also made big imp...
