Greenwich's Mari Noble had finished 50 seconds in back of Pomperaug's Kate Wiser's winning time at both Bowdoin and CIAC Divisions when they were in different races. They were definitely running together in the Open, but Noble pushed the tempo from the beginning and Wiser couldn't match the pace six days after her course record and 150 speed rating in the Division L race. Noble followed up her Division LL winning time of 18:30 with an 18:13 on a somewhat muddy course and boosted her speed rating up to 142, well above her 136 mark at Bowdoin.
Wiser may have been feeling the effects of her historic run the previous Saturday as she was 44 seconds back of her Division L time with an 18:23 and still very strong 136 rating. Manchester's Kate Hedlund, Bethel's Ava Graham, and Danbury's Daniella Grullon-Pena all had sizable speed ratings bumps to finish 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
