Meet Information
Meet Director Lindy Remigino invites all high school and middle school teams to the state's oldest cross country invitational, the 60th Greater Hartford XC Invite on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain. The meet format has changed slightly this year as a Championship Race has replaced the former Charter Race. The Championship Race is limited to the fastest 12 boys and girls teams determined by a 5-person team seed time provided by the coach during event registration in Head Count. We will also require names of all participants in each race this year in order to provide complete finish results.
Coaches are invited to join us in the invitational for any state team that features a scenic, mostly grass and trail course. The meet offers boys and girls race events for all levels including Middle School, Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity on very fan-friendly race courses that include a measured 5km course for Varsity Boys and Girls. Awards include Medals to the first 20 runners in all Races, Silver Revere bowls to the winning and second place teams in the Championship and Open Races, and Silver Revere bowls to each individual winner in Championship and Open Races.
For the third year, there will be separate boys and girls Middle School Races for 6th, 7th and 8th grade athletes. The Middle School races will use a 1.1-mile course. Medals are awarded to the first 20 runners.
All interested coaches should use the Online Intent to Enter form to register their team and provide contact information.
Welcome:
You are invited to the 60th Greater Hartford Cross Country Invite starting at 11:00am on Saturday, October 3, 2009. The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with their high school team. Middle school athletes competing for their teams are also allowed to compete in the featured Middle School Race.
Facility:
The meet will be held at the Stanley Quarter Park course in New Britain, CT.
Entry Procedures and Limits:
All meet registration is administered by MySportsResults.com Meet Management Services using Head Count Event entry.
The Head Count System will allow you to select 10 VARSITY ATHLETES for the Boys and Girls Varsity Events but you will only run 7 on race day in the Varsity races. You make the choice on race day as to which 7 athletes compete in the Varsity Races. The athletes you choose not to race in a Varsity event are welcome to participate in either the Freshman or JV Races with their assigned bib numbers.
Competitors in the Middle School, Freshmen, and JV races will be issued race day numbers so that we can accurately provide finish place and times for each athlete. Therefore, we will need their names so you will register runners in any non-varsity races in Head Count. You may run an unlimited number of athletes in the non-varsity races.
Interested middle school coaches should use the Online Intent to Enter form to register their team as well to provide contact information. Coaches will also use the Head Count event entry forms to register teams and names of athletes since athletes will be provided race day bib numbers.
