Connecticut Future Stars: Class of 2028 & 2029 Highlights from May 11th-17th

Connecticut's classes of 2028 and 2029 produced a strong statewide showing during the May 12-16 competition window, with standout performances across sprints, distance races, hurdles, and field events at meets including the Lindy Remigino Hartford City Invitational, The Greater Manchester Track and Field Classic, and several league championships.


Sprints

The sprint events produced some of the most competitive marks of the week across both classes. Ajani Walker (Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy) led the way with a blistering 10.80 in the 100 meters and a dominant 22.01 in the 200 meters, establishing himself as one of the top young sprinters in the state.

Behind him, Rodney Crockett (Middletown) ran 10.88 in the 100 meters, while Yancel Echevarria (Waterfordclocked 11.14 and continued his steady progression among sophomore sprinters.
