Sprints
The sprint events produced some of the most competitive marks of the week across both classes. Ajani Walker (Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy) led the way with a blistering 10.80 in the 100 meters and a dominant 22.01 in the 200 meters, establishing himself as one of the top young sprinters in the state.
Behind him, Rodney Crockett (Middletown) ran 10.88 in the 100 meters, while Yancel Echevarria (Waterford) clocked 11.14 and continued his steady progression among sophomore sprinters.
In the 200 meters, Dorian Greene (Ledyard) posted 22.58, and Jameson Warner (Plainfield) ran 22.64, showcasing the depth of an already versatile sprint group.
On the girls' side, Kyra McLean (Stratford) led the 100 meters in 12.31, followed by Imani Bell (Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) at 12.60 and Zemanie Shreeves (Weaver) at 12.66.
In the 200 meters, Ava Coleman (Windsor) added a strong 26.07 with her runner-up finish at the Greater Manchester Classic.
Distance
The middle and long-distance events featured deep fields, especially among the sophomore group.
In the 800 meters, Nico Cardello (East Lyme) led the underclassmen with a 1:56.24, followed by Leo Baroni (New Canaan) at 1:58.52, and Cooper Smith (New Canaan) at 2:00.82. On the girls' side, Kate Duggan (Joel Barlow) ran 2:18.12, with Madeline Garguillo (Nonnewaug) at 2:19.62, and Angelica Gournaris (Lyman Hall) at 2:21.11.
Charlotte Hardwick (Greenwich) clocked a 2:25.93 800m at the Danbury Dream Elite Invitational, improving from her previous mark of 2:31.57 and moving to 13th among sophomores in the event.
In the 1600 meters, Thomas Parrett (Glastonbury) led the boys in 4:31.96, while Lauren Parrett (Glastonbury) ran 4:57.38 to top the girls' field. Additional standouts included Carolyn Kamp (Glastonbury) at 5:06.56.
Also in the 1600, Peter Schutte (Manchester) ran a 4:34.53 at the Greater Manchester Meet, improving from 4:41.21 and placing ninth in a deep field of 57 athletes.
The 3200 meters saw Alexander Bianchi (Ellington) lead the boys in 10:12.56, while freshman Emily Benker (Glastonbury) won the girls race at Glastonbury @ South Windsor in 11:51.77.
In the 2-mile and mile events, Holden Hines (Xavier) ran 4:19.93, one of the top overall marks in the state, while Callie DeLuise (Oxford) posted 11:58.59 in the girls' 2-mile.
Hurdles
Hurdle events featured several strong performances across the underclassmen, highlighted by Cynthia Singleton (Naugatuck), who dominated both races with 15.15 in the 100 hurdles and 46.30 in the 300 hurdles.
Other notable boys performances included Zeki Duman (Shepaug Valley) at 15.90 in the 110 hurdles and Ethan Greenwood (Rockville) at 15.91.
Kaylin Diglio (Guilford) and Juliana Holmes (Hillhouse) also posted sub-16 second 100 hurdles winning their respective meets and adding depth to a competitive hurdle group for the underclassmen.
Field Events
In the throws, Luke DePiano (Lyman Memorial) delivered one of the top combined performances in the state with a 131-9 discus and 44-8.5 shot put, while Coslyn Bardy (Westminster School) produced a standout 134-0 javelin.
On the girls' side, Mikayla Schreier (Metropolitan Learning Center) led with a 100-10 discus and 34-11.5 shot put, marking her as one of the top throwers in the state for her class.
In the jumps, Christian Gaskins (E.O. Smith) cleared a major 7-1 in the high jump, one of the top marks in Connecticut this season. Daniel Rivera (South Windsor) led the long jump at 21-2, while Ben Brown (Brunswick School) and Reinaldo Soto (Bristol Central) also cleared over 20 feet.
On the girls' side, Ava Coleman (Windsor) led the long jump at 17-3.5, while Nala Jackson (Cheshire Academy) continued her multi-event emergence with 17-0 in the long jump and 36-5.25 in the triple jump. Multiple athletes cleared 5-0 in the high jump, including Desiree Graves (Avon), Isabel Botseridge (Simsbury), and Brooklyn Crawford (Newington).
The pole vault was led by James Mattison (Bacon Academy) and Kate Duggan (Joel Barlow), both clearing 10-0.
