Long Jump
It was not a big explosive day at the long jump pit as five guys came in with 22+ seed distances but none made it to that territory during the competition. Avery Warshaw came close at 21-10.5, less than two inches off his PR as MA state runner-up. CT state champ Aidan Law landed a huge PR by 6.25" at 21-9.5 for 2nd, and 16th seed Jacob Adams raised his PR by 6" to take 3rd.

Shot Put
Three years ago Aidan Felty set a meet record of 66-10.25 which seemed like it would last for quite a while. Top-seeded RI champ Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan reset the record book by more than a foot with a mark of 67-11.5 on his final throw. Before that however, 15th-seeded Max Klein who finished way back in 8th at 49-5 at the MA state championship made some news. A guy who usually is more in the 64' range and who just had a very off day at States, Klein got a chance to compete at New England's after some scratches in MA, and he had the lead for a while with 67-8.25 toss, 2.5" off the state record. CT state record holder Gary Moore JR got the bronze with a 62-8.5 put.
