Altopp Tops Field In 3,200m
Talk about saving his best for last. After opening with a first mile at slightly under 4:40 in the 3,200-meter run, Ridgefield's Gabriel Altopp closed with a 4:24 en route to a winning time of 9:02.35. Finishing second in the race was Staples' junior Zakeer Ahmad at 9:10.66. Connecticut occupied most of the top placements in this event with Cheshire's Brendan Murray (fourth, 9:11.97), Ridgefield's Ian Mickool (fifth, 9:13.16) and Daren's Armstrong Noonan (sixth, 9:13.48) also making it to the podium.
