Meet Information

Welcome:

You are invited to the Cat Fest Indoor Track and Field Meet starting at 6pm on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 hosted by Norwich Free Academy. The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with the following invited high school teams. Invited schools include NFA, East Lyme, Fitch, Griswold, Lyman Memorial, and Plainfield. ONLY coaches of one of the above named teams are allowed to submit entries.

Facility:

The meet will be held at the Greer Field House Track on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

Entry Limits:

An athlete may a total of 3 events total; coaches must only enter athletes in two (2) individual events plus (1) relay event.
There are NO maximum entries per school in each event.
Schools may enter an A and B and C team in the 4x400 and 4x200m Relay. Each team will only get 1 team per heat in each the relay.
In the 3200m Run, the fastest 14 runners qualify for the event. The remaining runners will be reseeded to the 1600m Run.
Registration:

Coaches must submit by FAX a Certificate of Insurance for 1-Million dollars, specifying the location, date and time of meet by Friday, Dec. 25th, 2010.
All meet registration is administered by MySportsResults.com Meet Management Services. There are no late entries or day of meet entries.

Deadline for entry is 6 pm Eastern, Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011.
Entry Fees:

Fee: $365 dollars will be charged for each program (boys & girls combined). Checks: All checks must be made out to NFA. Please bring your check to the meet or send ahead of time to Norwich Free Academy, Attn: Chad Johnson, Head Indoor Track Coach, 305 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360. The meet organizer will have volunteer timers, a starter and athletic trainer. We will also have judges to cover the field events. However each program should be ready to contribute one coach to help officiate events if we need help.
In case the meet is cancelled due to weather conditions, the host school will reimburse the invited schools.
Meet Rules:

To insure a fair and quality meet, CIAC rules will govern all events.
Long jump and shot put will be seeded into several flights with the top flight (1st flight). Athletes in each flight will get three jumps or throws. We reserve the right to set a minimum measuring mark if the field for an event is excessively large.
Events will be run in an order to maximize the speed of the meet and avoid conflicts between field events and running events.
Athletes in the 55 Dash and hurdles may use blocks.
Athletes may use pyramid spikes no larger than 1/4th of an inch (no needle spikes allowed).
Awards & Results:

Meet results will be emailed to each coach and all state qualifiers will be posted on mysportsresults.com.

There will be no admission fee to parents. Meet T-shirts will be on-sale at a cost of $15.00.
