New England Rankings: 1st Release

The release of the New England rankings is part of a larger scale project - launched by MileSplit earlier this month - to expand the depth of coverage in the region.  Although state specific sites have been in place for some time now, the segmented format did not address how closely connected New England truly is. 

Coverage will still remain state specific, but regional stats and meet information can now be found on all the sites.  The changes were implemented with the intended goal of providing unprecedented coverage of the New England Championships, while also highlighting the accomplishments of the athletes from all six states.  The MileSplit New England sites will use the resources of the MileSplit national network to track the performances of athletes throughout the Northeast, but the core philosophy will remain entrenched in grassroots local coverage for each state. 

The MileSplit sites are for the athletes, coaches, and fans.  It’s the involvement of those three groups that keeps us abreast of interesting stories, provides the most accurate database in the country, and helps us promote the sport.  We urge all of you to get involved.  Claim your team, check your profile, and help us track down results.  The more you get involved, the better the site becomes.

Below is the first release of the New England indoor rankings for the 2011-2012 season.  Dual meets have been taking place for two weeks now, and several large invitationals kicked-off last weekend.  Although there will be a lull in the action over the holiday weekend, the rankings will most likely be upended when the Boston Holiday Challenge and Rhode Island Classic take place early next week.
