Watson and Moore Snare State Records in Class L Meet

Simsbury's Timothy Watson set the bar at a quarter of an inch better that Chet Ellis's state record of 7-0.50 in the high jump and cleared it on Wednesday in the Class L finals. After making 7-0.75, Watson then made three attempts at 7-2, and Watson is now at US #3.

Later on, Hillhouse's Gary Moore Jr. captured what appears to be his third state record during the outdoor season when he launched a 192-10 throw to break Mel Taylor's old mark from way back in 1969 by more than 3 1/2 feet.

Watson's big leap can be found at the footage starting around 1:41.30 in the Full Replay video.
