CT's weekend action will be highlighted by appearances of some athletes and relay squads at the huge Penn Relays along with local action as the O'Grady Relays kick off on Friday in Danbury and the Ledyard and Ellington Invites on Saturday.
At the Penn Relays, Conard's Callum Sherry will be wearing the number 2 sticker as one of the top seeds in the high school boys 3000m on Friday, while teammate Audrey Kirkutis placed 2nd in the girls high jump in Thursday action at 5-6.5. Hillhouse's Gary Moore Jr. is seed #4 in the shot put on Friday. Schools competing in relays include Amity, Bloomfield, Conard, Darien, Manchester, Naugatuck, Prince Tech, Ridgefield, Sacred Heart-Hamden and Hall, plus preps and independents Hopkins, Loomis-Chaffee, and Sacred Heart-Greenwich.
About 44 teams should be in action at O'Grady in the biggest of the CT meets, while 26 teams appear headed for Ellington and 20 for Ledyard.
