Though none of last year's outdoor CIAC Open champs are back for the long jump and triple jump events and state records are unlikely to be challenged, there is still a talented corps of horizontally inclined athletes ready to stretch things out this year. Mariella Schweitzer and Aidan Law will be looking to get the indoor-outdoor double in the long jump, Erin Brennan should be among the top jumpers in both events, and Maya Pinto and Marquis Ward lead a group of younger jumpers who had very impressive performances as freshmen last year.
