Staples boys, after their 3rd place finish at the Bowdoin XC Classic, maintained their top spot on the Connecticut Cross Country Poll sponsored by Woodbridge Running Company.
Hall has moved up to 2nd after winning the Windham Invite and finishing 5th in Section 1 at Bowdoin with Xavier taking 5th in Section 2 without their #1 runner Robbie Cozean.
Fairfield Warde is ranked fourth based off their top 10 finish at Bowdoin and their victory at the Suffern Invite in New York.
On the girls side, Glastonbury is on top of the poll with 12 of the 15 first place votes. They finished 4th in the championship race at Ocean State this weekend with a 54 second 1-5 man gap.
Pomperaug took this weekend off, but they won the Wilton Invitational last weekend to establish them as a strong challenger to Glastonbury.
Defending State Open champions Ridgefield hasn't competed in any invitationals yet, but recently lost their first dual meet in 2 1/2 years to Danbury. They are still recovering from some nagging injuries and hope to recover soon.
Class S school Immaculate, ranked 4th, crushed the small school competition at the Stratton Brook Invite and only Glastonbury had a faster combined time of the day.
