Class MM maybe closer than it looks on paper. Brookfield beat Weston by 2 points in the SWC championships and Joel Barlow was only 10 points behind Weston. In the SCC, Guilford beat Lyman Hall and all five teams have a five man average of about 18 minutes in their conference meets.
Anthony Golino of New Fairfield and Weston's Timothy Lautenbach have gone back and forth the past few seasons and it could be anyone's race on Saturday. While these two runners know each other very well, they shouldn't discount ECC champion Samuel Whittaker who was a few places in front of them in Wickham's seeded race.
Girls
Bethany Ottowitz has improved over a minute on most courses she has raced this season. This type of improvement has helped her to finish top 5 in every invitational she ran and the NVL championship. Sara Leavens and Haley Gens of Avon will look to lead their team to a title after last year's disappointing 2nd place finish to RHAM. The two teams will most like battle it out again. Avon easily defeated RHAM at the CCC championship, but anything can happen in the up and down world of cross country.
