Courtney Dinnan and Raymond Cswerko Named Southern Connecticut State University October Athletes of the Month

Courtney Dinnan (Hamden, Conn.) of the women's cross country team and sophomore
Raymond Cswerko (Torrington, Conn.) of the men's swimming and diving team have been named as the Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for October.
Dinnan had a strong month on the individual front while also helping the Owls to a third place team finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. Along the way, she earned All-New England and All-Northeast-10 Conference honors for her efforts. Dinnan placed eighth at the all-division New England Championships with a personal best time of 17:40. She also placed third at the Northeast-10 Championships and added a sixth place mark at the Owls' other competition during the month, the Connecticut College Invitational.
She was named the Northeast-10 Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Oct. 16 and was tabbed for the league's weekly honor roll the following week.
Cswerko has made an immediate impact in his first season with the Owls after transferring in from the University of Maryland. He was twice named the Northeast-10 Swimmer of the Week during the course of the month.
He started the month with three first place marks in a competition against West Chester and Shippensburg, as he took the 100 freestyle, 100 fly and 200 breaststroke. He followed that up with three first place finishes at the Rutgers Invite in the 200 butterfly, the 200 IM and the 400 IM. Cswerko closed the month with three first place marks for the Owls against Saint Rose. He took first in the 100 yard freestyle, the 200 breaststroke and the 100 butterfly.
