Southern Connecticut led the Northeast-10 Conference with 36 selections to the All-Academic Teams this year.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University athletic department produced 36 selections to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Teams during the recently completed 2011-12 academic year, a figure that ranked tops among all league institutions. In addition, with 13 honorees during the spring, the Owls also led the league for the second season in a row. SCSU had 15 Academic All-Conference picks in the winter.

The conference recognized student-athletes in the sports of men's and women's lacrosse, men's golf, baseball, softball, men's and women's track and field and men's and women's tennis during the spring.

To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference Teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.

The Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR).
