NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team – Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.), Jason Polakowski (Essex Junction, Vt.) and A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.) – have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for Academic All-Conference consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.

The honor is a repeat for each of the three Owls. Jean-Baptiste and Guerra were both named to the Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team during the winter. Polakowski was named to the NE-10 Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Team back in 2010.

Southern Connecticut's three selections to the club were the most of any school in the league.

Jean-Baptiste earned All-Region honors in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays this spring. He was also an All-New England pick in the 4x400 relay and was a part of the Northeast-10 Champion 4x400 relay as well. Jean-Baptiste also placed second at the NE-10's in the 4x100 and was fourth in the 100 meters. He was also previously named an Academic All-American in men's track and field by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Guerra finished as an All-Region and All-New England selection in the hammer throw and was also the Northeast-10 Conference Champion in that event this spring.

Polakowski capped his outdoor career by earning All-Region and All-New England honors in the decathlon. He placed seventh at the New Englands in that event. Polakowski was also seventh in the 110 hurdles at NE-10's.
