NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Connor Coleman (Gunnison, Colo.) and head coach John Wallin of the Southern Connecticut State University men's track and field squad have been recognized by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with year-end honors. Coleman was named the Regional Field Athlete of the Year, while Wallin was named the Regional Coach of the Year.

Coleman enters the NCAA Championships as the No. 2 seed in the decathlon with a season-best score of 7,030 points. Coleman also notched provisional marks in the javelin and 110-meter hurdles this season. Coleman was named the NE-10 Outdoor Athlete of the Year and also earned All-Region accolades this spring. He was an All-American in the pentathlon during the indoor season.

Wallin repeats as the Regional Coach of the Year after an outdoor campaign in which the Owls won the Northeast-10 Championship – their 20th consecutive title – by 69 points and finished in a tie for second place at the New England Championships.
