NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) and Samantha Spindel (Brewster, N.Y.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships to be held later this month in Pueblo, Colo.. Bell qualified in both the 100 and 200 meters, while Spindel qualified in the hammer throw.

Bell's qualifying time for the 100 meters was 11.79 and 23.93 in the 200 meters. Spindel qualified with a throw of 54.52 meters in the hammer throw.

Bell and Spindel will travel to the Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl on the campus of Colorado State in Pueblo, Colo. to compete in the championships scheduled for May 24-26.
