Connor Coleman qualified in the decathlon for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Five members of the No. 20 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships to be held later this month in Pueblo, Colo. The list of student athletes includes: Connor Coleman (Guinnson, Colo.), Omar Gonzalez (Bristol, Conn.), Nick Lebron (Newington, Conn.), Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Joseph Poulsen (Oxford, Conn.).

Both Coleman and Lebron qualified in the decathlon with scores of 7030 and 6913, respectively. Perry will be running in both the 800 and 1,500 meters with a qualifying time of 1:50.48 and 3:47.96. Gonzalez qualified in the javelin throw with a mark of 62.97 meters. Poulsen will compete in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 8:58.08.

The Owls will travel to the Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl on the campus of Colorado State in Pueblo, Colo. to compete in the championships scheduled for May 24-26.
