NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) and Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team were selected for weekly honors by the Northeast-10 Conference. Bell was named Track Athlete of the Week and Johnson was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Bell was the New England champion in the 200 meters after posting a time of 23.93 seconds. She also finished second in the 100 meters in a time of 11.79 seconds and ran the second leg the 4x400 relay where her team set a new school record of 3:49.58 in that event. She managed to post new school records in both the 100 and 200 meters on the final day of the New England Championships.

Johnson won the pole vault and claimed New England champion honors by clearing a height of 3.7 meters in the pole vault on day two of the New England Championships on Friday.
