BOSTON – Senior captain Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) set new school records in both the 100 and 200 meters to lead the efforts of the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field program during the final day of competition at the New England Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Bell was the New England champion in the 200 meters after posting a time of 23.93 seconds. She also finished second in the 100 meters in a time of 11.79 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team of Nyoshee Lowry (Danbury, Conn.), Bell, Rachel Van Gilder (Enfield, Conn.) and Brittany Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.) set a new school record of 3:49.58 in that event.

Selected Owls will now move on to the NCAA Division II Championships later this month.
