Kimberly Johnson won the New England title in the pole vault today.
BOSTON - Junior Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) won the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.7 meters to lead the way for the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team on day two of the New England Championships on Friday.

Senior Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) enters the final day of competition as the top seed in the 100 and 200 meters after times of 11.97 and 24.29 seconds, respectively.

Freshman Michelle Grecni also earned All-New England honors with an eighth place finish in the pole vault. She cleared a height of 3.55 meters.

Samantha Spindel (Brewster, N.Y.) was also an All-New England honoree after a third place finish in the hammer throw, while Sarah Vaughan (Hamden, Conn.) placed eighth in the 5000 meters.

The final day of action concludes tomorrow.
