Connor Coleman finished first in the 110 meter hudles at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Connor Coleman (Gunnison, Colo.) and Nelson Laskoski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team claimed top honors in their events at the Yale Springtime Invitational held today in New Haven on the campus of Yale University. Coleman ran the fastest time in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.04 leading two other student athletes in the event. Laskoski was first in the pole vault clearing a height of 4.70 meters.

Nick Lebron (Naugatuck, Conn.) was second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.08 and Jason Polakowski (Essex Jct., Vt.) was eighth with a time of 16.28. Jason also finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.64 and Daniel Candelaria was seventh in 59.34.

Laskoski led three other Owls in the top-8 of the pole vault: Justin Escaravage (Brookfield, Conn.) was third with a mark of 4.40 meters; Coleman was fifth with a vault of 3.95 meters and Lebron in seventh with a mark of 3.80 meters.

Michael Lee (New London, Conn.) was second in the long jump with a distance of 6.95 meters followed close behind by Fallo in third with a mark of 6.78 meters. Lee also finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.43 meters.

Russell Fallo (Redding, Conn.) finished third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.03 followed by Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.) in fifth and Thomas Phommalinh (New Britain, Conn.) in eighth with times of 11.11 and 11.38, respectively. Jean-Baptiste also finished fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.40 and Fallo was seventh with a time of 23.05.

Thomas Saska (Seymour, Conn.) finished fifth in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:59.68 and Paul Ryskowski (Bristol, Conn.) was eighth with a time of 10:31.69.
The 4 x 100 relay team of Fallo, Jean-Baptiste, Phommalinh, and Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) ran a time of 43.29 to finish second. The Owls finished second in the 4 x 400 meters behind a team from Saint Francis with a time of 3:28.37.

Ryan Mills (Stratham, N.H.) was the only Owl to compete in the discus throw. He finished sixth with a mark of 39.97 meters.

Adham Conaway (New Haven, Conn.) managed eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 52.04.

The Owls will be back in action this upcoming weekend to defend their streak of conference championships at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships to be held on the Southern campus on May 4-5.
