Brian Nill is ranked No. 21 in the nation for the 1,500 meters.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Six members of the No. 24 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team reached a top mark on the NCAA Division II Outdoor Qualifying List at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships held this past weekend at Jesse Dow Field in New Haven, Conn. The list of Owls include Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.), Brian Nill (Ridge, N.Y.), Justin Escaravage (Brookfield, Conn.), Michael Lee (New London, Conn.), Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.) and A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.).

Perry is ranked in both the 800 and the 1,500 meter events. He ran the nation's 23rd best time of 1:51.72 at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. He now ranks No. 9 in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:47.96 achieved at the Larry Ellis Invitational on April 20th. Nill ran a time of 3:49.82 at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships to rank 21st.

Escaravage tied fellow teammate Nelson Laskoski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) ranked 19th with height cleared of 4.80 meters in the pole vault. Escaravage reached his mark at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, while Laskoski managed his vault during the Metropolitan Championships on April 14.

Lee finished second at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships in the long jump with a leap of 7.23 meters and holds the 31st best jump in the nation.

A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.) improved upon his previously throw of 57.34 meters in the hammer throw with a mark of 57.56 meters to claim the 20th best toss in the nation at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.

Buaklo joined his fellow teammates on the national leaderboard with a heave of 16.20 meters in the shot put at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

Poulsen remains No. 8 in the nation with his mark of 8:58.08 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase reached at the Larry Ellis Invitational held on April 20th. He is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation and holds the current record for the Owls.

Connor Coleman (Gunnison, Colo.)  claimed third at the UConn Decathlon Invitational on April 10 and managed to reach a number of top marks on the NCAA Division II national leaderboard. Coleman still ranked second in the decathlon with 7030 points followed by Nick Lebron (Newington, Conn.) in eighth with 6913 points and Justin Escaravage (Brookfield, Conn.) in 27th with 6401 points. Coleman also ranks 22nd in the javelin with a throw of 60.56 meters and 42nd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.63.

The Owls will be back in action for the New England Championships to be held this weekend, May 10-12, in Boston, Mass.
