Roadrunner Invitational Meet Results

MAHWAH, N.J. – Freshman Sarah Vaughan (Hamden, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's outdoor track and field team ran the fastest time in the 5,000 meters and set a new meet record at the Roadrunner Invitational held on the Ramapo College campus in Mahwah, N.J. She paced a time of 18:20.89. The Owls finished fourth as a team with 82 points.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Raysa Florentino (Groton, Conn.), Lowry, Rachel Van Gilder (Enfield, Conn.) and Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) finished second with a time of 49.38.

Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) and Marvline Carter (Bloomfield, Conn.)finished seventh and eighth in the 100 meter hurdles with times of 15.78 and 16.12. Carter also claimed seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:11.29. Johnson was second in the high jump clearing a mark of 1.56 meters, while Chelsea Gaglio (West Haven, Conn.) was fourth in the high jump clearing the mark of 1.53 meters.

Jaclyn Sullivan (Lisbon, Conn.) was third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.31. Sullivan finished in the top-8 in the 1,500 meters in second with a time of 4:58.90.

Bell finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.98. Freshman Nyoshee Lowry (Danbury, Conn.) was fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.66. Lowry also finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.17 meters.

Aubrey Dowding (Warwick, R.I.) finished second in the javelin with a toss of 38.00 meters.

Nicole Strauss (Shelton, Conn.) was third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:22.09 followed by Kiara Bonilla (Bristol, Conn.) in seventh with a time of 20:223.60.

Meghan Nicolletta (East Hampton, Conn.) finished fifth in the pole vault was a height cleared of 2.95 meters.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow for the second day of the Sam Howell Invitational and the Roadrunner Invitational.
