STORRS, Conn. – Coming off All-America Honors in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division II National Championships, Brian Robbins (Bristol, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team picked up right where he left off by claiming the top spot at the UConn Spring Invitational today in Storrs, Conn. He ran a time of 1:53.51 to beat-out athletes from UConn and Brown University. Joining his fellow teammate, Joseph Poulsen (Oxford, Conn.) was first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:36.28.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Russell Fallo (Reading, Conn.), Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.), Thomas Phommalinh (New Britain, Conn.), and Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were second with a time of 42.50. Also the 100 meters, Forth finished fourth with a time of 11.09.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Forth, Adham Conaway (New Haven, Conn.), Jean-Baptiste, and Robbins were second with a time of 3:18.39. Adham managed to finish eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 51:54 and tied with a member of Bryant for eighth in the high jump with a height cleared of 1.84 meters.

Paul Ryskowski was sixth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:22.84.
Nelson Laskowski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) finished tied for fourth in the pole vault with a height cleared of 4.50 meters.

Connor Coleman (Gunnisod, Colo.) led the Owls dominance with a distance of 6.84 in the long jump as a total of four members of the team finished in the top-8 of the event. Nick Lebron (Newington, Conn.) was fourth reaching the mark of 6.81 meters, while Michael Lee (New London, Conn.) and Akeem Elliott (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) finished in sixth and eighth, respectively.  Lee managed a fifth place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 13.81 meters.

Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.) finished third, while Michael Cameron (Hartford, Conn.)was sixth in the shot put. They managed heaves of 15.18 and 13.45 meters, respectively.

Omar Gonzalez (Bristol, Conn.) finished sixth in the javelin with a toss of 51.95 meters.

A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.) finished fourth in the hammer toss at the Army Dick Shea Open in West Point, N.Y. held this afternoon. His heave traveled a distance of 57.34 meters.

The Owls also competed at the Army Dick Shea Open in Westpoint, N.Y. this afternoon. Check back as full meet results become available.
