Logan Sharpe is one of eight Owls to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Eight members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team – seniors Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.), Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.), Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Brian Robbins (Bristol, Conn.), juniors Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.) and sophomores Connor Coleman (Gunnison, Colo.), Nick Lebron (Newington, Conn.) – have qualified for the NCAA Division II Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships. The event will take place at Minnesota State University, Mankato beginning on March 9.

In all, there are six Owls competing in individual events and two more as part of relay teams. The 4x400 relay quartet of Sharpe, Jean-Baptiste, Forth and Lumax enters the NCAA's with the top time in Division II so far this year, 3:12.32. That group is coming off a New England Championship in that event this past weekend.

The distance medley relay unit of Lumax, Sharpe, Robbins and Perry is No. 4 thanks to a time of 9:50.62.

Coleman and Lebron will both compete in the heptathlon for the Owls. Coleman is the No. 6 seed after tallying a score of 5047 points. He won the New England Championship in that event this past weekend. Lebron is the No. 10 seed after registering a score of 5002 points earlier this year.

Lumax and Robbins will compete in the 800 meters for the Owls. Lumax set a New England record en route to winning the individual title in that event. His time also qualified him for the USA Olympic Trials. Robbins enters the championships as the No. 5 seed.

Perry has the second best time nationally in the mile this year, a time of 4:04.30.

Sharpe will also compete in the 400 meters. He enters seeded No. 5 with a time of 47.7.
