Brittany Brown and Michelle Grecni received year-end honors from the Northeast-10 Conference.
NEW HAVEN, Conn – Two members of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team – freshman Michelle Grecni (Danbury, Conn.) and junior Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) – were awarded year-end honors from the Northeast-10 Conference. Grecni was tabbed as the league's Rookie of the Year, while Brown was named the Athlete of the Year.

Brown, who missed the NE-10 Championships due to injury, had an outstanding regular season for the Owls. She has posted the No. 1 mark in Division II in four separate events to date – 60 hurdles, high jump, long jump and pentathlon. She posted a time of 8.74 seconds in the hurdles at the Metropolitan Championships. At the UConn Invitational, she registered a leap of 1.76 meters in the high jump and 5.75 meters in the long jump. Brown also posted a pentathlon mark of 3,662 points at the Brother Jasper Invitational.

Grecni finished second at the Northeast-10 Championships in the pole vault with a leap of 3.65 meters. Ranked among the NCAA Division II leaders in the pole vault throughout the course of the indoor campaign, she continues to hold the No. 1 mark nationally in that event. Grecni cleared 3.85 meters at the Metropolitan Championships in late January.

The Owls return to action on Friday for the New England Championships.
