Ashley Bell improved upon a previous top-30 mark in both the 60 meters and 200 meters this past weekend.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) of the No. 14 nationally rank of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team improved upon her previous top-30 mark in the 60 meters and 200 meters with a time of 7.73 and 25.42, respectively, at the Northeast-10 Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend where the Owls finished third overall.

Michelle Grecni (Danbury, Conn.) remains the No. 2 ranked pole vaulter in the nation this week. She cleared a height 3.85 meters achieved at the Metropolitan Championships held on Jan. 23-24.

Titilayo Vanriel (Hartford, Conn.) ranks 13th in the nation with a time of 2:14.31 in the 800 meters achieved at the Metropolitan Championships held on Jan 23-24.

Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) has a total of four national rankings. She improved upon her previous season best in the 60 hurdles at the Metropolitan Championships held on Jan. 26th with a time of 8.74 and ranks 20th. She is also ranked No. 3 in the nation in the high jump by clearing a height of 1.76 meters at the UConn Winter Invitational on Jan. 7th and is still ranked No. 10 in the long jump with a leap of 5.75 at the same event. She is currently seventh in the nation in the pentathlon with an overall score of 3662, which a new school record was set at the Brother Jasper Event held on Dec. 12th.

At the Brother Jasper Invitational held on Dec. 9th, Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.) managed to clear a height of 3.71 meters in the pole vault and is now No. 13 in the nation.

The Owls will be back in action this weekend for the New England Championships held in Boston, Mass on Feb. 24-25.
