NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Michelle Grecni (Danbury, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team was selected as both the Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference for her stellar performance in the pole vault at the Metropolitan Championships. Brittany Brown was also selected to the Weekly Honor Roll for her effort in both the 60 hurdles and high jump events.

Grecni claimed first place honors and broke a school record in the pole vault with a height cleared of 3.85 meters coming off this past weekend's meet. She is currently tied for the best vault in Division II.

Brown claimed second place honors and improved upon her No. 15 national rank in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.74. She also claimed third in the high jump with a height cleared of 1.70 meters.

The Owls will be back in action scheduled to compete at both the Gigengack Invitational in New Haven, Conn. on Feb. 3-4 and the New Balance Invitational on Feb. 3-4 this upcoming weekend.
