Nick Lebron was first in the hepathlon on day one of the Metropolitan Championships held today in Manhattan, N.Y.

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Nick Lebron (Newington, Conn.) of the No. 10 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team finished first in the heptathlon event on day one of the Metropolitan Championships held on the campus of Manhattan College. He achieved an overall score of 2864.

A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.) managed a toss of 15.78 meters to finish second in the weight throw.

Justin Escaravage (Brookfield, Conn.) was fourth in the heptathlon with a score of 2414, while Jason Polakowski (Essex Jct., Vt.) was sixth with a score of 2287.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the Metropolitan Championships.
