The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Sharpe, Forth, Jean-Baptiste, Lumax currently holds the third best time in the nation achieved today at the Great Dane Classic.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.), Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.), Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Brian Robbins (Bristol, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field managed NCAA Division II provisional marks in their respective events at the Great Dane Classic held today on the University of Albany campus in New York, N.Y. The 4 x 400 meter relay team consisting of Lumax, Shapre, Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.) and Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also managed a NCAA provisional mark for the Owls.

Finishing in third and fourth in the 800 meters with times of 1:51.09 and 1:51.29, Lumax and Perry are currently ranked second and third in the nation with their results. Both managed to reach an NCAA Division II auto invite to the NCAA National Championships to be held on March 9-10 in Mankato, Minn.
The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Sharpe, Jean-Baptiste, Forth, Lumax managed a third place finish with a time of 1:03.63. With this time, these student athletes rank second in the nation in Division II.

Sharpe finished second in the 500 meters with a time of 1:03.63 and beat out members from such schools as: UConn, UMass Amherst and Lafayette.
Robbins managed a ninth overall finish in the 800 meters and is currently ranked fourth in the nation with a time of 1:53.28.

Jean-Baptiste and Forth finished 10th and 13th, respectively, in the 400 meters with times of 49:29 and 49:54.

Men's Assistant Coach, Diwani Augustine, competing unattached, finished first and set a new meet record in the triple jump with a leap of 15.70 meters.

With a leap of 7.02 meters, Akeem Elliott (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) finished sixth overall and currently ranks sixth in the nation with a mark of 7.19 meters achieved at the UConn Winter Invitational held on Jan. 7th.

In the weight throw, A.J. Guerra (Stafford Springs, Conn.) finished fifth with a toss of 16.59 meters.

Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.) was eighth in the shot put with a heave of 16.03 meters, while Michael Cameron (Hartford, Conn.) and Stephen Cappello (Milford, Conn.) claimed 13th and 25th place with heaves of 14.94 meters and 12.47 meters, respectively.

Nelson Laskoski (Pomfret Center, Conn.) managed to clear of height of 4.65 meters in the pole vault for a sixth place finish, while Justin Escaravage (Brookfield, Conn.) was ninth overall with a vault of 4.50 meters.

The Owls will be back in action at the Metropolitan Championships in Manhattan, N.Y. to be held on both Jan. 26th and 27th.
