Nick Fedor is one of three captains for the Owls this season.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University men's track and field coach John Wallin has announced that Nicholas Fedor (Bethany, Conn.), Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.) and Joseph Poulsen (Oxford, Conn.) will serve as team captains for the 2011-12 season.

Fedor was the Northeast-10 Conference Champion in the weight throw as a junior. He also earned an All-Region selection for the weight throw (indoors) and the discus and hammer throw (outdoors). He was also named All-New England in the weight throw during the indoor season last year.

Jean-Baptiste is coming off a stellar season in which he was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Teams. He was also an All-American and was tabbed All-New England in the 4x400 relay and 400 meters (indoors). He holds All-Region selection honors in the 4x00 relay (indoors and outdoors) and 400 meters and 4x100 relay (outdoors).

Poulsen has been a key member of both the cross Country and track and field teams throughout his career. As a junior, he claimed All-Region honors in the 5000 meters (indoors) and All-New England honors in the 4x800 relay (indoors), while being selected All-Region and All-Conference in cross country. He is a three-time All-Region and three-time All-Conference pick in cross country for his career.

Fedor, Jean-Baptiste and Poulsen will lead the Owls back into competition this weekend for the Great Dane Classic to be held in New York, N.Y. on Jan. 20 with the first events to start at 9 a.m.
