Enis Bukalo named Co-Field Athlete of the Week by Northeast-10 Conference.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.), Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.) and Akeem Elliott (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field team received top honors from the Northeast-10 Conference for their performance at this past weekend's UConn Tri-Meet held in Storrs, Conn. The Owls competed against fellow state schools: University of Connecticut and Central Connecticut State University. The Northeast-10 Conference selects individuals for achievements based on nominations from the athlete's respective school.

Perry was named Track Athlete of the Week for his first place finish in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:24.74. This mark was also a school record. This was his first time this season receiving these honors.

Bukalo and Elliott named Co-Field Athletes of the Week and managed NCAA qualifying marks in the shot put and long jump, respectively. Bukalo delivered a toss of 16.06 meters and ranks 12th in the nation, while Elliott leaped 7.19 meters and ranks fourth in the nation in his event. Both, Bukalo and Elliott, are first time recipients of this award this season.

The Owls will look to continue their success into this weekend's Yale Season Opener to be held on Jan 14th.
