Men’s Indoor Track and Field Fares Well At UConn Triangular
Men's Meet Results
STORRS, Conn. –
Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.),
Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.), and
Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's indoor track and field managed first place honors in their respective events at the first meet in 2012 held on the UConn Campus in Storrs, Conn.
Sharpe finished first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.64, while
Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.) was fourth with a time of 50.45.
Lumax claimed top honors in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:19.05.
Perry finished first in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:24.74, setting a school record in that event in the process.
The Owls' 2,200 meter spring medley team claimed first with a a time just under five minutes at 4:58.9.
In addition, sophomore
Enis Bukalo (Derby, Conn.) and junior
Akeem Elliott (Greater Portmore, Jamaica) posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the shot put and long jump, respectively. Bukalo delivered a toss of 16.06 meters, while Elliott leaped 7.19 meters in his event.
The Owls will be back in action next weekend for the Yale Season Opener in New Haven, Conn. on Jan. 14 with the first event to start at 9 am.
