Kimberly Johnson ranks among the Division II leaders.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Kimberly Johnson (Lisbon, Conn.), Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team rank among the top athletes in the nation for this week's 2011-2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Qualifier List update.

Johnson managed to clear a height of 12 feet two inches in the pole vault to rank fifth in the nation at the Brother Jasper Invitational held on Dec. 9th.

Brown has a total of four national rankings coming off two provisional marks two weeks ago at the Brother Jasper Invitational on Dec. 9th in the high jump and the pentathlon events. She is ranked second in the high jump with a height of five feet eight inches and third in the pentathlon with an overall score of 3662, which is a new school record. Brown is still third in the long jump with a leap of 5.68 meters at the Yale Season Opener held on Dec. 3rd and is sixth in the 60 meter high hurdles with a time of 8.76 obtained at the same event.

Bell is now 10th in the nation in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.75 obtained at the Yale Season Opener on Dec. 3rd.

The Owls will be back in action after the first of the year for the UConn Tri-Meet to be held in Storrs, Conn. On Jan. 7th.
