MANHATTAN, N.Y. – Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team shattered the school record in the pentathlon event on day one of the Brother Jasper Invitational held in Manhattan, N.Y.

Brown also managed a NCAA provisional mark in the high jump clearing a height of 5 ft. 8 inches and a provisional mark in the pentathlon event. In just two events this season, Brown has managed NCAA provisional marks in the pentathlon, high jump, long jump and the 60 meter high hurdles.

The Owls will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the Brother Jasper Invitational.
