Bell, Brown Rank Amongst Nation’s Best in USTFCCCA Division II Ranking
NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
Ashley Bell (Riverhead, N.Y.) and
Brittany Brown (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) of the Southern Connecticut State University women's indoor track and field team rank among the nation's best student athletes in United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Associations (USTFCCCA) ranking. Both Bell and Brown reached NCAA Qualifying marks in their respective events at the Yale Season Opener held on Dec. 3rd.
Brown ranks second overall in the long jump with a leap of 5.68 meters and fifth in the 60 meter high hurdles with a time of 8.76, while Bell ranks fifth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.75.
The Owls will be back in action for two meets this weekend. On Dec. 9-10, the Owls will travel to Manhattan, N.Y. for the Brother Jasper Invitational and on Sunday Dec. 11, they will host University for the James Barber & Wilton Wright Alumni Track and Field meet scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
