The men's cross country claimed its best finish ever at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.

WESTFIELD, Mass.  – Corey DeLaCruz (Alamogordo, N.M.) of the Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team was one of three Owls to finish in the top 10 at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships today in Westfield, Mass. The Owls finished just 1:08 off the team score lead in second to mark their best finish to date at the event. Cruz placed fifth with a time of 24:26.37.

Brian Nill (Ridge, N.Y.) and Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) rounded out the top three places for the Owls in seventh and eighth overall. Paul Ryskowski (Bristol, Conn.) managed a 12th place time of 24:58.77.

Also competing for the Owls: sophomore Asher Brandt (Orange, Conn.) in 39th, Samuel Montclair (Cheshire, Conn.) in 55th, Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.) in 59th, Chris Babcock (New Windsor, N.Y.), Tom Saksa (Seymour, Conn.), and Tyler Fredsall.

The Owls will be back in action Nov. 6th for the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional in Boston, Mass. scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start.
