BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 18 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team placed 28th overall at the 2011 New England Cross Country Championship held today at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.

Corey DeLaCruz (Alamogordo, N.M.) led the pace for the Owls in 58th place overall with a time of 26:01. Also competing for Southern Connecticut were Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.), who placed 84th with a time of 26:23, Paul Ryskowski (Bristol, Conn.), Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.), Brian Nill (Ridge, N.Y.) and Samuel Montclair (Cheshire, Conn.) rounded out the squad.

The Owls will be back in action on Oct. 15 for the Connecticut College Invitational with a 12 p.m. start time.
