Chris Covert has resigned as head coach of the Owls. John Wallin (left) will take over as interim coach of the women's programs for the remainder of the academic year.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Chris Covert has announced his resignation as head women's cross country/track and field coach at Southern Connecticut State University, effective immediately, to pursue other career opportunities. Head men's cross country/track and field coach John Wallin will guide the women's programs on an interim basis through the remainder of the 2011-12 academic year.

“I would like to thank Chris for his contributions to Southern Connecticut State University,” said Director of Athletics Patricia D. Nicol. “He helped to establish both the cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field squads as formidable contenders on the regional and national platforms during his time as head coach. I wish him the best with his future endeavors.”
