NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Led by Junior Brian Nill (Ridge, N.Y.) with a third place finish, the Southern Connecticut State University men's cross country team opened the season with five of the top 10 fastest individual times en route to a first place finish at the 23rd Annual Blue Devil Cross Country Invitational held today.Nill finished with a time of 26:54 followed by four of his teammates within seconds.

Corey DeLa Cruz (Alamogordo, N.M.) took fourth place with a time of 26:56 and Asher Brandt (Orange, Conn.) took fifth with a time of 27:05, while Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Samuel Montclair (Cheshire, Conn.) finished in sixth and eighth, with times of 27:10 and 27:18, respectively.

The Owls will be back in action two weeks from tomorrow at the Division II Cross Country Challenge held in Kutztown, Pa. scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
