NEW HAVEN, Conn – Southern Connecticut State University women's cross country coach Chris Covert has announced the team's schedule for the upcoming 2011 season. The season opener will be on Sept. 2 at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational.

After the opener at CCSU, the Owls are back in action on Sept. 17 for the Division II Cross Country Challenge at Kutztown University (Pa.). SCSU will take part in the Metropolitan Championships on Sept. 30 in its final meet of the month.

There are three meets in the month of October. The first is on Oct. 9 at the New England Championships in Boston. The following weekend, the team is slated for action at the Connecticut College Invitational, the final competition leading into the NE-10 Championships on Oct. 22.

The NCAA Regionals will be held on Nov. 6 at Franklin Park in Boston. The NCAA Championships are on Nov. 19 in Spokane, Wash.
