Jared Dixon finished 13th in the high jump on Friday.
TURLOCK, Calif. - The trio of Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.), Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.) and Corey DeLaCruz (Alamogorado, N.M.) captured the top three spots in the preliminaries of the 800 meters on Friday to lead the way for the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team at day two of the NCAA Championships.

Perry took the top spot with a time of 1:50.91. Lumax was 18-hundredths of a second behind, while DeLaCruz took third with a time of 1:51.28. The trio advances to tomorrow's final in that event.

The 4x400 relay of Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.), Lumax, Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.) finished ninth in their event with a time of 3:15.98.

Jared Dixon (Middle Village, N.Y.) claimed 13th place in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 7.5 inches.

The Owls return to action tomorrow for day three of the national championships.
