Selasi Lumax is one of 10 Owls who have qualified for the NCAA Championships.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ten members of the Southern Connecticut State University men's outdoor track and field team – seniors Diwani Augustine (East Hartford, Conn.), Casey Canada (Royal, Ark.), Jared Dixon (Middle Village, N.Y.) and Patrick Waszczak (Colchester, Conn.), juniors Corey DeLaCruz (Alamogorado, N.M.), Stenson Jean-Baptiste (Stratford, Conn.), Selasi Lumax (Somerset, N.J.) and Josh Perry (Naugatuck, Conn.) and sophomores Twayne Forth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Logan Sharpe (Esperance, N.Y.) – have qualified for the NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The event will take place at Cal-State Stanislaus in Turlock, Calif. beginning on May 26.

Jean-Baptiste, Forth, Lumax and Sharpe made the field as part of the 4x400 relay, in which they ranked 12th with a time of 3:11.66. Canada is an alternate for that relay quartet. Jean-Baptiste, Lumax and Sharpe were all All-Americans during the indoor season.

Lumax, DeLaCruz and Perry are all ranked in the top nine in the 800 meters. Lumax is second, DeLaCruz is third, while Perry is ninth. All three earned All-America honors during the indoor season.

Augustine, an All-American in 2009, qualified in both the triple jump and the long jump. He is the No. 9 seed in the triple jump with a leap of 15.29 meters, and is No. 13 in the long jump (7.40 meters).

Waszczak, an All-American in the pole vault indoors this winter, is the No. 15 seed in that event.

Dixon is the No. 7 seed in the high jump after a leap of 2.12 meters.
